Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information DAC Landscape Architecture Ltd collects when you visit this website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information. You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@dacla.co.uk.
What we collect
When you contact us by email, by phone or with the enquiry form, we receive the details you choose to give: usually your name, email address, phone number and the details of your project or site. The enquiry form sends them to us securely: they are kept in our website's database so we can reply, and a copy is emailed to our studio inbox.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider records technical information that every website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. It is used to keep the site secure and running, and it is not used to identify or profile you.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use analytics or advertising trackers, sets no cookies for visitors and stores nothing on your device.
The only cookies the website sets are sign-in cookies for our own staff, in its private editing area. Our fonts and images are served from our own website rather than from third parties.
The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps. When the page loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Links to Instagram and Google Maps take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
How we use your information
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to prepare proposals and to deliver our services if you become a client. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use carefully chosen service providers who process information on our behalf: Render, which hosts this website and its database on servers in the European Union; Resend, which delivers the enquiry form's messages to our inbox; and Microsoft 365, which hosts our email. Where a project requires it, we may share relevant details with other consultants, contractors or authorities, such as a local planning authority, with your knowledge. Any transfer outside the UK is covered by appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years. For clients, we keep project correspondence and records for as long as needed to deliver the project and to meet our legal, insurance and accounting obligations, which is usually six years after the project ends.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to you or another organisation. To make a request, email info@dacla.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
