The studio

Land really is the best art.

Working with the existing landscape, rather than against it.

DAC Landscape Architecture Ltd is a forward-thinking and innovative landscape architecture practice based in Adlington, Lancashire, and a Registered Practice with the Landscape Institute.

We design thoughtful, imaginative landscapes that respond to their surroundings and the people who use them. From urban to rural landscapes, we work with the character of each place to create spaces that feel natural, useful and considered.

Every landscape is shaped by the way it will be lived in. We take time to understand how a space should feel and function throughout the year, and how it can connect the building, wider landscape and its context. The result is a place that feels like it belongs there and gets better with time.

Sukanya Borua

Graduate Landscape Architect — B.Arch (COA) M.Arch (Adv. Arch.)

Sukanya joined DAC Landscape Architecture in August 2026, following the completion of her studies at the University of Nottingham. With a background in Architecture, she is particularly interested in placemaking, community-driven design and the stories that shape the identity of a place.

Her approach to design is influenced by culture, memory and narrative. Having trained in Indian Classical Music for 14 years and with a love for story-driven games, she often draws inspiration from rhythm, atmosphere and storytelling when thinking about spatial design.

Kavya Nair

Graduate Landscape Architect — B.Arch (COA) MLA

Kavya joined DAC Landscape Architecture in October 2026, following the completion of her Master’s in Landscape Architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture. With a background in Architecture, she is interested in placemaking, ecological design and creating meaningful connections between people and the landscapes around them.

Her approach to design is informed by a curiosity for the relationship between people, nature and the layered histories of a place. She is particularly interested in how landscape architecture can respond to local character, support biodiversity and create resilient, inclusive environments. Outside of work, Kavya enjoys expressing her creativity through sketching and painting, experimenting in the kitchen, and discovering new places, cultures and experiences.

Scope of Services

What we offer

Landscape Architecture

Landscape design that responds to the character of a place, bringing together landscape, buildings and how people use the space.

Landscape and Visual Assessment

Landscape and visual assessments that help understand the character of a place and guide sensitive, well-considered development.

Garden Design

Thoughtful garden design shaped around how you want to use the space, its setting and the way it will change through the seasons

Six stages, start to finish.

We can take a project through the whole sequence or join at any single stage.

01

Site Inception

We start with a site visit, taking time to understand the vegetation, levels, boundaries and constraints that will shape the design.

02

Concept

We develop the initial concept, establish a baseline alongside biodiversity net gain requirements, and prepare a high-level cost plan for the landscape works.

03

Landscape and Visual Assessment

Depending on the scale and nature of the project, we prepare Landscape and Visual Appraisals or full Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, with engagement of statutory consultees where required.

04

Planning

We prepare the drawings and documents needed for planning, including masterplans, general arrangements, detailed planting plans, sections, design statements and 3D visuals.

05

Technical

We develop the design in detail, including hard landscape, landscape details, play areas and NBS specifications, all prepared to the relevant British Standards for tender.

06

Site Monitoring

We stay involved through construction, carrying out inspections at key stages, reviewing setting out, RFIs and subcontractor drawings, and supporting the project through handover and the final defects inspection.
